About the Forum
HR EXCHANGE FORUM

Mission of the Forum
The aim of the Forum is to provide HR managers like you with an opportunity to exchange information on HR practices and pay and benefits in the local area and to build up a database of high quality data for member’s exclusive use, whilst maintaining company anonymity. Why a forum? A forum enables you to exchange data confidentially, to discuss problems and solutions, to action topics of common interest - and all of this in an environment where you are sharing with people you know and trust. The Forum holds regular meetings and provides a secure email network for information exchange between members and they can network to exchange data with each other and share experiences.

Information Exchange
Regular surveys are run to ensure a database of up to date information and for those all members are asked to provide a minimum of information on their current HR practices including salaries and benefits, holidays, sick pay, company cars, health and medical schemes, share schemes, and other topics of interest to members.
Data is exchanged on a members-only basis and is kept completely confidential. Any reports are issued with the companies’ identities remaining anonymous and identified only by a code number. Data collection is by questionnaire (electronically or on paper) and reports are available by request at a time appropriate to the member, e.g. during budget preparation for the following financial year.
Members are able to access regularly updated data on a wide range of compensation and benefits areas, usually available only to HR people, including special interest subjects on request. Access to the data is only given to those who have submitted information.

Who runs it?
Andrew Strathdee, Director and head of the Compensation practice at Corporate HR Partners Ltd and Jacquie Mahoney, Director, have both worked for many years for a number of well known companies. Andrew has originated and run numerous surveys ranging from local ones covering clerical and administrative personnel, to being chairman for 10 years of the European Software Industry Survey. He was, in addition, a member of the committee which set up INSitE, which is the key High Technology survey for Europe. Jacquie has run the Forum since its inception in January 2000.
